Bizen ware (備前焼) is one of Japan’s oldest ceramic traditions, known for its unglazed surface and natural firing effects.
This sake cup is a handcrafted piece by Japanese ceramic artist Yasuyuki Takeuchi (竹内 靖之). Formed and fired without glaze, the surface is shaped entirely by flame, ash, and time within the kiln.
The gentle gradation of warm earthy tones and deep, charred hues reflects the natural unpredictability of Bizen firing, giving each piece a quiet but powerful presence.
Compact and well-balanced in the hand, it is designed for the intimate ritual of drinking sake.
