Bizen ware (備前焼) is one of Japan’s oldest ceramic traditions, known for its unglazed surface and natural kiln effects created through wood firing.
This vase is a one-of-a-kind piece by ceramic artist Motomu Kadono. The rounded lower form and elongated neck create a strong silhouette, while the surface displays natural ash deposits and firing marks unique to Bizen ware.
The texture and color variations—ranging from deep reddish tones to soft gray and earthy hues—are formed organically in the kiln, making each piece entirely unique.
Originally intended as a flower vase, it also functions as a sculptural object, bringing a quiet but grounded presence into a space.
