This is a black bamboo chasen made in Takayama, Nara—the historic center of Japanese whisk-making. Crafted by Sabun Kubo (Kumei-do), a respected workshop known for producing authentic tea tools with long-standing craftsmanship.
Originally created as a practice whisk for Omotesenke-style tea ceremony, this chasen is valued for its resilience and steady performance, making it ideal for regular use at home or in training.
