Description
A traditional Japanese cast iron tool made using the Nambu Tekki casting technique in Japan.
Simply place it in a pot or kettle while boiling water. Natural iron is gradually released into the water, traditionally believed to help supplement daily iron intake.
In Japanese kitchens, cast iron shapes like this have also been used to enhance cooking — especially for improving the color of pickles and adding a rich, glossy finish to black beans.
Combining utility with gentle charm, the eggplant form brings a subtle, playful accent to the kitchen.
