A one-of-a-kind Japanese ceramic planter with a heavily textured surface inspired by weathered stone and eroded earth.

The sculptural double-rounded form is finished primarily in pale white and mineral gray, interrupted by exposed areas of charcoal black, warm rust, and earthy brown. The irregular surface gives the piece the appearance of stone that has been worn, scorched, and altered over time.

Rather than hiding the effects of the making and firing process, this planter makes them part of its character. Pits, uneven coloration, rough texture, and variations across the surface create a vessel that changes noticeably depending on the viewing angle and light.

Its compact but vertical silhouette works especially well with bonsai, caudex plants, succulents, and delicate branching plants, creating a strong contrast between living growth and the mineral-like ceramic surface.

Designed and handmade in Japan.

Each piece is individually handmade and fired. Variations in shape, glaze, texture, color, and slight distortion are natural characteristics of the making and firing process rather than defects.

This is the exact piece shown in the photographs and is available as a one-of-a-kind item.
