A set of two handmade Japanese ceramic bowls with a beautiful blue-green glaze and an earthy, exposed clay base.
Each bowl has a softly irregular form and a richly varied glazed surface. The glaze shifts between pale turquoise, celadon-like green, and subtle mineral tones, while the exposed clay around the foot adds a warm, natural contrast.
These bowls were made by a Japanese ceramic workshop and are intended for food use.
In Japanese dining, small bowls such as these are ideal for serving side dishes and individual portions. Their approximately 12 cm size works beautifully for chilled tofu, vegetables, salads, pickles, fruit, small appetizers, desserts, and other everyday dishes.
The low, open shape also makes the food easy to see, allowing the color and texture of the ingredients to become part of the presentation.
Each piece is handmade, so the two bowls are not perfectly identical. Slight variations in shape, glaze, texture, and color are part of their character and reflect the individual firing process.
Sold as a set of two.
