A vintage Shunkei-nuri confectionery box from Hida Takayama, one of Japan’s most respected lacquerware regions. Finished in a rich translucent red, this octagonal box reflects the quiet depth and warmth characteristic of traditional Hida lacquerwork. Originally made as a kashiki for serving sweets, it also works beautifully as a small decorative storage piece on a table or shelf.
Though simple in form, the glossy urushi surface gives it a subtle presence that feels both refined and calm. This is an unused vintage piece, preserved in very good condition.
