Japanese Green Glazed Small Matcha Bowl — Mino Ware
A small handmade Japanese matcha bowl with a softly layered green and ash glaze, made in Japan as Mino ware.
The glaze moves from fresh pale green around the upper half into warm cream and soft white toward the base, with natural drips and variations created during firing. The result has a quiet, organic appearance that evokes the colors of spring and early summer in Japan.
This compact style of chawan is traditionally associated with nodate — the practice of preparing and enjoying matcha outdoors.
Smaller than a standard matcha bowl, it is easy to hold and carry while still providing enough room for preparing an individual serving of matcha.
The gently irregular rim, visible glaze movement and subtle firing variations give each bowl its own character.
