Japanese Silver Tenmoku Matcha Bowl — Arita Ware
A handmade Japanese matcha bowl featuring a striking silver tenmoku glaze over a deep black ground.
Made in Japan as Arita ware, this chawan has a dark, expressive surface scattered with soft silver-gray markings. The glaze changes subtly with the light, giving the bowl a quiet depth that becomes especially beautiful when viewed up close.
Black is one of the classic colors used for Japanese matcha bowls. Against the dark interior, the vivid green of freshly whisked matcha creates a particularly beautiful contrast.
With its rounded form and substantial proportions, the bowl feels grounded in the hands while leaving enough space for whisking matcha with a chasen.
The irregular silver pattern makes each piece visually distinctive while retaining the restrained character of traditional Japanese teaware.
