A small amber-colored octagonal plate by Oda Pottery, a Japanese ceramic maker founded in 1921 in Mizunami, Gifu.
This piece is part of the “Sumikiri Jubako” series, inspired by the clean, cut-corner shape of traditional Japanese jubako boxes. The soft amber glaze, called “Usua ame,” has a warm honey-like tone that brings a quiet accent to the table.
Its compact size makes it useful for small sweets, wagashi, pickles, condiments, soy sauce, side dishes, or as a small tray for everyday objects.
Oda Pottery has continued making white porcelain tableware for nearly 100 years in Mizunami, one of Japan’s historic Mino ware production areas.
