Description
A handcrafted Japanese cleaning set made using traditional natural materials by skilled artisans in Wakayama, Japan.
About this item
The broom is made from natural shuro (palm fiber), valued for its strength, flexibility, and gentle touch on floors and tatami. Unlike synthetic fibers, shuro helps reduce static electricity and prevents dust from scattering.
The dustpan is coated with traditional kakishibu (persimmon tannin), a natural finish associated with durability and subtle deodorizing properties. The layered tannin coating creates a refined wood-grain appearance unique to each piece.
The set also includes a Japanese cotton cleaning cloth, highly absorbent and suitable for daily household use.
Curator’s Note
