A handmade rectangular mamezara by Japanese ceramic artist Masanori Tanaka.
This small thick ceramic plate has a soft off-white glaze, natural crackle texture, and quietly uneven handmade form. The dark clay marks at the corners add depth to the piece, giving it a grounded, expressive presence.
Its compact size is suitable for soy sauce, salt, pickles, small sweets, condiments, or a small side dish. It can also be used as a small tray for rings, incense accessories, or everyday objects.
Masanori Tanaka was a ceramic artist from Dachi, Gifu, known for pursuing his own world of expression through pottery, especially Oribe ware. Even while living with long-term kidney illness and dialysis, he continued making work and searching for new forms of expression. This collection remains as part of his final body of work.
Each piece is handmade, with natural differences between individual pieces.
