Shizuoka Zairai Green Tea – Heirloom Seed-Grown Leaves is a carefully selected tea essential from Japan, suited to a calm tea ritual at home.
Description
A rare Japanese green tea harvested from seed-grown Zairai tea trees in Shizuoka, Japan.
About this item
This tea comes from Zairai (native Japanese) tea plants grown naturally from seed rather than cuttings. Seed cultivation allows each plant to develop deep root systems, absorbing minerals directly from the surrounding soil and expressing a distinctive terroir.
Sourced from tea trees over 100 years old, the leaves offer a deep aroma, full body, and lingering umami. Natural cross-pollination among seed-grown plants creates a complex, layered flavor profile unique to Zairai tea.
Curator’s Note
Selected for its connection to Japan’s original tea heritage and its rich, mineral-driven character.
