A special interpretation of Sekimori-ishi (関守石), created using natural stone from Niigata and sacred Seima (精麻) hemp fiber.

In traditional Japanese culture, Sekimori stones were placed in tea gardens to quietly indicate a boundary — a symbolic marker suggesting that guests should not proceed further. Rather than a sign, it represents a subtle gesture of intention within the landscape.

This piece is tied using Seima, purified hemp fiber traditionally used in Shinto rituals and sacred spaces. Hemp has long been regarded in Japan as a material associated with purity, protection, and spiritual clarity.

The combination of natural Niigata stone and hand-tied Seima creates a unique sculptural object that carries both aesthetic and cultural meaning. The soft movement of the hemp fiber contrasts beautifully with the weight and stillness of the stone.

It can be displayed in meditation spaces, tea rooms, gardens, or interiors that appreciate Japanese minimalism and wabi-sabi philosophy.

Each stone is naturally unique, making every piece one of a kind.
