Description
A Shigaraki-yaki pedestal bowl with a calm, sculptural presence, finished in a matte Hai-Mikage (ash glaze) surface with subtle iron speckles.
The elevated foot (kodai) creates visual height and “ceremony” on the table—making simple foods feel intentionally presented. The ash-glazed finish carries natural mineral spotting and a rustic, earthy texture that only high-fired stoneware can achieve. Handcrafted in Shigaraki, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, each piece is slightly different, with quiet wabi-sabi character.
