Description
A sculptural bamboo flower vase handcrafted in Shizuoka, Japan.
This elegant ichirin-zashi (single-stem vase) is made using marudake higo—round bamboo strips that define traditional Shizuoka bamboo craftsmanship. Two vertical pillars support gently curved bamboo elements, creating a form that appears to flow as one continuous loop. In reality, the structure is built from two separate sections, an intricate detail that reflects the artisan’s precision and skill.
The base features refined Ajiro weaving, adding depth and visual texture even when displayed without flowers. The vase stands beautifully as a minimal object suited to modern interiors, Japanese-style spaces, entryways, or shelves.
