Edition 01: Monochrome — Silent Fragments Set Ⅴ is a carefully selected one-of-a-kind art object from Japan, suited to a quiet, considered home.
Description
Edition 01: Monochrome
A one-of-a-kind stone art set (5 stones) created by Marika, presented in a paulownia (kiri) wood box and wrapped in hand-traced calligraphy paper. You will receive the exact set pictured.
The Concept: Intersecting Timelines
“Silent Fragments” is a dialogue between two different scales of time.
One is geological time—stones shaped over millennia by the harsh waves of the Tsugaru coast.
The other is human time—captured in antique Japanese manuscripts.
By wrapping these silent stones in traces of historical words, this work offers a fragment of eternity for your space.
The Stones in This Set: Depth & Nebula
This final set in Edition 01 is curated for its mystical, atmospheric qualities—stones that resemble celestial bodies or landscapes hidden in deep mist.
• The Eclipse: A dark, solid stone with a subtle glint—quiet, powerful presence like a planet in shadow.
• The Nebula: A remarkable fragment with hazy swirling grey-and-white patterning, like a distant galaxy captured in stone.
• The Basin: A unique dish-shaped stone with a smooth dark center and contrasting light rim—a natural vessel formed by tides.
• The Vein: A deep-toned stone marked by fine, lightning-like white threads tracing the earth’s hidden history.
• The Eye: A rounded stone with a singular misty focal point that draws the viewer into its centered depth.
As these are natural stones, textures and colors are inherently one of a kind. The set pictured is the exact set you will receive.
The Wrapping: Traces of History
The translucent wrap is a hand-traced reproduction of an old Japanese handwritten document (calligraphy). Its flowing lines carry the breath of the past.
