Silent Fragments — Edition 02: Brown
Daichi (大地)
Five stones. Each one a chapter of the earth, written in brown and gold.
A one-of-a-kind Japanese stone art set (5 stones) in a paulownia wood box, wrapped in hand-traced calligraphy paper.
You will receive the exact set pictured.
[The Concept: Intersecting Timelines]
“Silent Fragments” is a dialogue between two different scales of time.
One is the geological time of stones, shaped over millennia by the harsh waves of the Tsugaru coast.
The other is the human time captured in ancient Japanese manuscripts.
By wrapping these silent stones in traces of historical words, I offer a fragment of eternity for your space.
[The Stones in This Set: Wild Forms]
The most sculptural set in the collection — each stone has an unexpected shape, as if the sea chose to carve small creatures and forgotten objects rather than smooth pebbles.
• The Root — A deep reddish-brown stone with an organic, elongated form. It has the color of aged wood and the weight of something pulled from the earth.
• The Agate — A large, polished form where pale cream and sage green meet in translucent layers. The most luminous stone in the collection.
• The Creature — A small, dark stone with an angular, almost animal-like silhouette. Mysterious and full of character.
• The Shell — A pale, spiraling form in white and cream. It curls inward like a seashell, holding its own quiet space.
• The Pebble — A smooth, muted grey-brown oval. Simple and warm, it balances the wilder forms around it.
Each stone is natural and one-of-a-kind. No two sets will ever exist.
[Living with Silent Fragments]
Place them on a bookshelf, a windowsill, or beside a candle. Line them up, scatter them, or simply hold one in your palm. These stones ask for nothing — they quietly shift the atmosphere of any space they inhabit.
[The Wrapping: Traces of History]
The translucent wrap is a hand-traced reproduction of an old Japanese handwritten document. Its flowing lines carry the breath of the past.
