Description
A handmade Japanese kyusu teapot crafted in Tokoname Yaki, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns with over 1,000 years of history.
Tokoname ware has been produced since the late Heian period and is widely respected for its exceptional teapots. In 1976, Tokoname was officially designated as a traditional craft production area by the Japanese government.
This kyusu is made entirely of ceramic, including a built-in ceramic tea strainer. The ceramic strainer allows tea leaves to open fully, helping extract the natural umami and depth of Japanese green tea.
The matte black surface offers a calm, minimalist presence suited to daily tea rituals and refined interiors. Each piece is handmade, and subtle variations in form and texture are part of its character.
