Vintage Beppu Bamboo Flower Vase
Handcrafted in Beppu, Oita Prefecture, Japan’s most celebrated center of bamboo craftsmanship, this vintage flower vase embodies the quiet elegance of traditional Japanese design.
Each strip of bamboo has been carefully woven by hand, creating a graceful form that appears to move with light and shadow. Beautiful both with seasonal branches and as a sculptural object on its own, it brings warmth and texture to any interior.
The vase includes its original removable inner cylinder, allowing fresh flowers to be displayed while protecting the woven bamboo exterior.
Over time, bamboo develops a rich natural patina that deepens its character. This piece remains in excellent vintage condition with very little sign of use. The removable inner cylinder shows slight discoloration from age, a natural characteristic that does not affect its function and is not visible during normal display.
