A striking vintage Japanese three-drawer chest decorated with traditional raden mother-of-pearl inlay.
Delicate bamboo motifs extend across the glossy black lacquered drawer fronts, created with iridescent shell that shifts between soft pink, blue, green and silver as the light changes.
The dark lacquer and luminous shell create a beautiful contrast, giving the piece a quiet but highly decorative presence.
With three functional drawers and a substantial size, it can be used for jewelry, accessories, stationery, keepsakes, tea utensils, or other small objects. It also works beautifully as a decorative object in its own right.
The piece has considerable age and shows natural signs of previous use, while remaining in good overall vintage condition.
