A one-of-a-kind vintage Japanese sandalwood folding fan, selected and reinterpreted by WabiSabi Kitchen.
Collection No. 01 is distinguished by its warm reddish-brown wood tone, giving it a slightly deeper and warmer appearance than the other fans in this small collection.
The entire fan is made from delicately carved sandalwood, with intricate openwork extending across the ribs. The fine carving creates an exceptionally light and lace-like appearance when opened.
For this collection, we paired each vintage fan with a tassel handmade in Japan by a Japanese artisan. Each piece is then presented in a paulownia wood box selected by WabiSabi Kitchen.
The result brings together a beautiful vintage Japanese object with contemporary Japanese craftsmanship — preserving the character of the original piece while giving it a new presentation for its next owner.
