Japanese Silk Shifuku — Pink Round Motif
A traditional Japanese silk shifuku, a drawstring pouch used to protect and present treasured tea utensils.
This piece features a warm salmon-pink silk textile decorated with repeating cream-colored circular motifs. The softly rounded silhouette and gathered opening are complemented by a deep purple braided cord.
The contrast between the geometric round pattern and the gentle folds of the silk gives the pouch a distinctive textile character.
Larger than many small shifuku, this piece can accommodate a tea bowl measuring approximately 10 cm in diameter, making it both a functional tea accessory and a beautiful object in its own right.
Beyond the tea ceremony, it can be appreciated as a small textile art object, displayed alongside ceramics, books, or other collected objects.
