This traditional covered confectionery box (Kashiki) was made using the renowned bentwood craftsmanship of Odate, Akita Prefecture. Odate Magewappa was officially designated as a Traditional Craft of Japan in 1980 and is celebrated for its exceptional craftsmanship, elegant simplicity, and lasting durability.
Originally designed for serving Japanese sweets during tea gatherings, this versatile piece can also be used for dry confectionery, tea accessories, small keepsakes, or simply displayed as a beautiful object in a Japanese-inspired interior.
